The name of this site is militaryhistoryofthe20thcentury.com and we will be posting military stories and photos mostly of WWII but will cover anything military from 1901 to 2001.
I decided to start this website because of a life long interest in military history.
This is a Canadian site but we will be posting about many countries' military history during war and peacetime.
There is a Contact Us page with an email address where you can ask about any thing you read or see on this site and if we have more details we will send them to you if you provide us with an email address.
We have received thousands of photographs from fans of my ex blog many of which are from Russian sources. There are thousands of photos of German army troops, tanks and aircraft that have ended up in Russian hands after WWII and they have been sent to me for publishing on line on an English language website. Many of these photos have never appeared on any website in any language before now. I have also received about 5,000 photos of the German Army in WWI. There are or will be posted many hundreds of American, British, and Russian navy and air force photos and some rare Japanese photos also.
You can download as many photos as you want but if you repost them we ask you to please mention the name of this site as the source of the photos. A direct link back would be nice.

WARNING: THERE IS ONE PAGE NAMED HORRORS of WAR THAT CONTAIN VERY GRAPHIC IMAGES OF POST BATTLE AND DURING BATTLE PHOTOS THAT CAN BE VERY DISTURBING TO SOME VISITORS; IF THESE TYPES OF IMAGES CAN DISTURBE YOU IN ANY WAY THEN ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT WHEN A TANK GETS DESTROYED THERE IS MORE THEN JUST SCRAP METAL LEFT ON THE FIELD OF BATTLE.

This site is no longer a free photo site. It is now a paid membership site for the photos. A very low cost of $5.00USD will get you a lifetime membership username and password. The military stories page will always be free.
Many of these very rare photos that I have received have costs attached to them and the costs of the hosting and bandwidth space being used require me to ask you to please make a purchase for $5.00USD for a password and username for the photo pages on this site using this PayPal button
to help with the costs for operating this website. That username and password will be good for every visit to the site. There is a Free Sample Photo page so you can see what type of photos are available and these samples you can download. I still have many thousands of photos as indicated above that are mostly from WWII that have never been seen on an English language website and many of those have never been on any website in any language. Most of these photos have been supplied to me from private Russian sources with access to many German photos taken during the war but either confiscated by the Soviets when these German soldiers were captured or from cameras found on the battlefield. There are also many other photos from German, American, British, Canadian and even Japanese sources. There is also a page for links to retail sales from other respectable sources concerning military subjects that I am also hoping to raise enough commissions to cover the costs of this website.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
We will also accept personal family or friend's war stories and/or photos that you can send to the Contact Us email, but no videos please. We are looking for mostly photos never seen before on English websites or any website in any language. We hope you will enjoy this site.
